French company

Famille Michaud is an independent, family-run French SME based at the foot of the Pyrenees.
Our company has always been committed to natural, pleasurable eating experiences through our offer of natural sweeteners.

Who are we?

Famille Michaud was founded in 1920 by Yves Michaud, an engineer and passionate beekeeper. The company has grown from generation to generation, always keeping its passion for nature, and particularly for bees and honey, close to its heart.

These sweeteners are marketed under brands that we are proud of and that we have developed over the years:

Famille Michaud historique
Offering natural alternatives to white sugar
The natural sweeteners offered by Famille Michaud are genuine alternatives to white sugar.

Our aim is to make these products accessible to as many people as possible, whilst also making them easier to use on a daily basis, by offering adapted formats and practical packaging, for example.

Defending quality honey
Famille Michaud has been selecting, bottling and marketing quality honey since 1920.
With more than 2,000 honey-bearing floral species around the world, we source our honey from where we believe they are the best, based not only on analysis but also on their organoleptic profile.

Our fight has always been about the honey’s quality and the fight against the fraud that plagues this product. We analyse all the honey that we put in jars to ensure our consumers get an unadulterated honey, with a floral designation and geographical origin that conforms to its labelling.

We are also campaigning for mandatory pre-jarring honey analyses for all stakeholders – with a view to guaranteeing the quality of the honey consumers buy, as well as full transparency.

Choosing one of our brands of honey is the key to:
  • Honey that is always 100% pure and natural (in compliance with the current regulations).
  • Finding information on the label that complies with the regulations and that has been verified.
Thanks to this analysis, we can guarantee no adulterations, as well as the accuracy of the geographical origin and floral designation of all our honey.
The quality of our honey has always been, and will continue to be, our priority.

Famille Michaud historique
Making honey that is accessible to all
What motivates us every day is to make the widest possible variety of honey available to as many people as possible.
Honey is an everyday product and it should stay that way!
At Famille Michaud, we’ve always championed accessibility. Since honey from France is the most expensive in Europe, we offer imported honey (from Spain, Argentina, Hungary, Ukraine…) under our Lune de Miel® brand.

It’s important to remember that it’s the analysis that determines the quality of a honey, not where it comes from.

It also depends on:
  • bee health (no pollution or pesticides),
  • a good climate for floral species
  • beekeeping know-how
There are passionate beekeepers all over the world.
