Working at Famille Michaud Apiculteurs

Wondering what it’s really like to work at Famille Michaud Apiculteurs? Rather than answering ourselves, we preferred to give the floor to those who live it every day: our employees. Production, marketing, purchasing, R&D — four roles, four perspectives, and the same drive to share the spirit of a family-owned business founded in 1920.

In short

A family-owned business founded in 1920, based in Gan, in the Béarn region of southwest France, with teams attached to their products and territory, and a culture of transmission running through every role. This article gives the floor to our employees.

A family-owned business founded in 1920, rooted in the Béarn

Four generations serving honey

Famille Michaud Apiculteurs is, above all, a family story. From Yves Michaud, founder in 1920, to Marie Michaud today, four generations have built the family-owned business we are today.

Based in Gan, rooted in the Pyrenees

Our Gan site, the Domaine Saint-Georges, at the foot of the Pyrenees, has been home to our teams since 1998. This is where our honeys are packed and where our teams meet every morning. Working here also means living in the Béarn, as close as possible to our products.

What our employees say

We asked four team members to speak, without a script, about their roles in just a few minutes. Here are their testimonies. To see all the testimonials, visit our YouTube channel.

Romain — Marketing and communications

Romain joined Famille Michaud Apiculteurs in 2008 and returned in 2021. Now Marketing & Communications Director, he and his team drive brand creation, the product lifecycle, innovation and the company’s communications.

Valérie — Purchasing and sourcing

A buyer for over 25 years, Valérie sources agave syrup in Mexico and the honeys we cannot find in France — such as orange-blossom honey — in Spain. Over the years she has built strong ties with passionate beekeepers and producers.

Matthieu — Process technician

Joining as an apprentice in 2018 and later hired as a process technician, Matthieu ensures the honey’s organoleptic quality and food safety before it is made available for jarring. What he loves: teamwork and autonomy.

Claire — Research and development

Having joined ten years ago as a line leader, Claire is now a product technician in research and development. She prepares samples for sales meetings and trade shows, and contributes to developing future products.
