Famille Michaud Apiculteurs partner beekeepers: the French supply chain

Partner beekeepers : Famille Michaud Apiculteurs

Behind every jar of French Famille Michaud Apiculteurs honey, there is a beekeeper. 600 long-standing partner beekeepers, present all over France, whose honeys are packed at our Gan site. This article puts the French supply chain in the spotlight, through their testimonies and our commitments.

Key points

600 partner beekeepers all over France, a dedicated purchasing team that exchanges regularly with them, the Lune de Miel® Foundation supporting projects for the sector, and Beeliz® turning each jar bought into 100 flowers planted for pollinators, and Miel l’Apiculteur® offering a range of 100% French-origin honeys: Nos Ruchers Partenaires.

A dedicated purchasing team and regular exchanges

On the Famille Michaud Apiculteurs side, a dedicated purchasing team manages the relationship with partner beekeepers: field visits, regular phone exchanges, sharing of analysis results, technical support as needed. It is not a remote sourcing operation: it is a sustained, human relationship.

Our commitment to the sector

We communicate regularly on our commitment to French honey. Our latest LinkedIn publication details how we concretely support the French apiculture supply chain.

Meeting our partner beekeepers

Rather than attempting to represent all 600 partner beekeepers, we gave the floor to two of them. Father and son, same region, same farm — two generations talking about the trade in their own words. Their video portraits show the reality of an apiculture that passes down through generations.

Transmission, the thread of their story

Father and son. A farm that passes down, a trade transmitted from generation to generation. What strikes you listening to them is less the technique than the rhythm: their gestures, habits, the fine knowledge of their hives. Beekeeping is not just a calendar: it’s a daily attention, through all weathers.

From honey to brand, the role of Famille Michaud Apiculteurs

Our trade: selecting, analysing and packing honey

An important point to understand. The trade of Famille Michaud Apiculteurs is to select honey from its partner beekeepers, control it, analyse it, pack it and sell it under its brands. The company also owns its own apiary of around 200 hives, tended by a dedicated beekeeper.

Famille Michaud Apiculteurs is a French family business, today run by the fourth generation, deeply attached to its local roots and to the sector. As such:

  • we are the leading buyer and promoter of French honey;
  • we work historically with more than 600 French partner beekeepers;
  • all our brands offer French honeys;
  • and, through the Lune de Miel® Foundation, we financially support research projects for bees and biodiversity.

Examples of how we promote the French apiculture sector

Our presence at the Salon de l’Agriculture

At the Salon International de l’Agriculture 2026, we took the time for pedagogy: introducing the bee and the diversity of honeys, the life of the hive, and allowing visitors to talk directly with a partner beekeeper present on our stand.

Supported projects

The Lune de Miel® Foundation finances and supports research and action projects in favor of bees and apiculture. In 2025, several projects were financially supported, and others accompanied through in-kind donations: beekeeping equipment, logistical support. Not everything is measured in euros: presence and donations of equipment also count.

Beeliz®: 1 jar purchased = 100 flowers planted

Beeliz® is a brand that puts biodiversity at the heart of its model. The principle is simple: each Beeliz® jar purchased finances the planting of 100 melliferous flowers. In 2025, that means 60 million flowers planted for pollinators. A gesture at purchase, a measurable impact in the field.

Miel l’Apiculteur® and the Nos Ruchers Partenaires range

At Famille Michaud Apiculteurs, we are convinced that the value of a honey begins with recognising the work of those who harvest it. That is the whole point of our Nos Ruchers Partenaires range: putting French beekeepers in the spotlight and showcasing their harvests to consumers.

Traceability taken all the way to the beekeeper

Every jar states the name and address of the beekeeper who harvested it — a transparent approach that creates a direct link between producer and consumer, while giving concrete visibility to the work done in the field.

A partnership built to last

Thanks to 3-year purchase contracts, we build a lasting relationship with our partners, giving them greater visibility in the marketing of their honeys.

With Nos Ruchers Partenaires, we share a common ambition: to go even further in traceability, to showcase French monofloral honeys, and to help secure lasting outlets for beekeepers.
