Deeply tied to nature and all that it has to offer, Famille Michaud Apiculteurs has mad a commitment to protect biodiversity and promote the development of beekeeping in France.
The Fondation Lune de Miel® came to be in 2014, under the aegis of the Fondation de France. To give it an effective, productive scope of action, Famille Michaud Apiculteurs has given this foundation a hefty budget of 700,000 euros over a seven-year period.
Financial grants and donations of beekeeping gear are made by a strategic committee of six people, four of whom work for the company:
Marie Michaud,
CEO,
Laure Lago,
Private label quality manager,
Patricia Beaune,
Head of Quality,
Bernard Saubot,
Director of Subsidiaries and Beekeeping Development.
“The Fondation Lune de Miel® was endowed with €700,000 from Famille Michaud Apiculteurs over a period of seven years. To date, the committee has examined 167 applications, approved 84 of them, and paid out €544,675.”
The team is completed by two outsiders: Gilles Fert, beekeeper, teacher, and author, as well as Ariane Massenet, a renowned journalist and actress. The committee meets twice each year, in spring and in autumn.
The Fondation de France participates in the grant allocation meetings with a consultative vote.
